A website’s a good start, but don’t underestimate the value of these 3 free tools from Google. Spending just a little amount of time to set these up can make a big difference – especially if your competitors didn’t.
Google My Business GMB) – A Free Business Profile
Google offers free business profiles that let you manage how your business appears in Google search and maps. Every business should create and/or verify their business profile and take advantage of this free service. As tempting as it might be to simply claim your business and move on, spend the extra few minutes to do it the right way.
Make sure to complete the full profile as much as possible. Use quality original images, a detailed and unique business description and other info. Be sure to use your exact Business name, phone number and address the same way it appears on your website – right down to the formatting, spaces and capital letters. A fully completed profile will look better to users as well as Google.
Google Analytics
This is another free too from Google that tracks visitor data on your website. You’ll need to complete a simple signup and add some simple code to your website. Once you have this in place, you’ll be able to see data on how many people visit your site, how long they stay, what pages they visit and more. Even if you don’t plan to use this or care, put it in place and let it gather data for the future.
Google Search Console
Similar to analytics, search console is free and typically requires you verify or add a simple code to your website or server. It makes it easy to monitor errors related to load speed, server errors, security and crawl errors. Unlike Analytics which more monitors users, this is more search-engine focused and gives you access to info that can help improve your visibiilty or ranking in search.
